Playa Azul occupies a wide crescent cove east of Balneario La Monserrate, offering a less crowded, more local-feeling alternative. Best months for calm swimming: May through August. The dry season (December–April) brings the most reliable weather.

For surfers, winter swells (November–February) bring the best waves. During calmer months, water near shore is flat to gently rolling — good for relaxation and bodyboarding. The eastern end is popular for snorkeling.

Notably less crowded than neighboring Monserrate — no lifeguards, no concessions, no organized facilities. That is exactly its appeal.

• Protect Sea Turtles: Between April and November, sea turtles may nest on sandy beaches. If you spot a nest or hatchlings, keep your distance and report it to the DRNA (Department of Natural Resources).
