Boca Quebrada (Vieques)

Island weather tends to be drier and sunnier than the mainland. Consider your preferences for weather conditions and crowd levels when planning your visit.

• December through April: High season with the most pleasant weather, lower humidity, and sunny days. Book ferry tickets well in advance as this period is most popular.
• May and November: Shoulder months offering good weather with fewer crowds than peak season.
• Morning visits (8 AM–11 AM): Best combination of good weather and manageable crowds. Arrive before 10 AM to secure the best parking spots and beach locations.
• Hurricane season (June–November): Check weather conditions before visiting during these months.

Sun and water protection:

• Reef-safe sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) applied regularly—the tropical sun is intense, especially between 10 AM and 2 PM
• Reusable water bottle and plenty of water in a cooler
• Hat or cap for sun protection
• Portable beach umbrella or pop-up shade tent (highly recommended due to limited natural shade)

Boca Quebrada is located in the municipality of Vieques, an island municipality 8 miles off the southeast coast of mainland Puerto Rico.
