About Peña Blanca

Peña Blanca, also known as Wishing Well Beach, is a secluded hidden gem nestled between white limestone cliffs on Aguadilla's northwest coast. This small, intimate cove offers crystal-clear turquoise waters perfect for snorkeling and swimming, with excellent visibility and marine life including sea turtles and tropical fish. Best suited for adventurous visitors seeking a pristine, off-the-beaten-path beach experience away from crowds.

Local tips

Visit during summer months (late May to August) for calm waters and full beach access, or winter for surfing. Arrive early morning or on weekdays to avoid crowds and secure parking.
Bring snorkel gear to explore coral reefs and spot sea turtles. Swimming out 50 yards from shore reveals much more marine life. Winter months offer good surfing conditions.
Use caution on wet concrete steps with no rails when accessing the beach. Watch for sea urchins and fire coral while snorkeling. Check tide charts as high tide can eliminate the beach entirely.
Pay $5-10 at a local resident's property for secure parking - don't park on the road as you'll get a $100 ticket. Only 3-5 official spots available at the street end.
Pack all supplies including water, snacks, sunscreen, and trash bags as there are no facilities. Avoid glass bottles and arrive prepared for a full day adventure.
Expect a challenging descent down uneven concrete steps and rocky areas to reach the beach. Those with mobility issues may need assistance accessing this remote location.
